French film crew in Thessaloniki

While taking pictures on the seafront I came across a group of French media students who were making a documentary about the Greek uprising last December. We started chatting and they asked me if they could interview me about what I had seen then.

In retrospect - half a year later. How does it look now. What effects? It's not Europe 1848, nor Paris 1968, nor the various velvet revolutions, Iran most recent. What were the Athens riots, the Greek uprising? That dramatic month seems to have disappeared from the history radar, become a blip on a time line.

I think it is far too early to talk about the historical significance, if any of what happened in December. However, the political ramifications of what happened are still very much in evidence here in Greece.
